In the system.log, we're getting lots of "UI updates were forcibly disabled" followed by "finally reenabled" by multiple applications, but nothing that looks suspicious. Looking at the individual applications, they sum up to a few hundred MB, with the App Memory around 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 GB and Compressed memory 1-1/2 to 2 GB. When I use Activity Monitor, it shows terrible memory pressure, BUT I can't figure out WHAT is using the memory. When you click on a folder in Finder it takes several minutes for the file names to appear, and a couple more minutes for the file icons to appear. I have a user who is still on Mavericks, and his system performance is a constant train wreck.
